1. Persistent Cough: The most obvious sign of a chronic cough is a persistent cough that lasts for weeks or even months. This cough can occur at any time of the day but may worsen during the night or after meals.

2. Mucus Production: Chronic cough often involves the production of mucus or phlegm, which can be clear, white, yellow, or green.

3. Shortness of Breath: Individuals with chronic cough may experience shortness of breath, especially after physical activity.

4. Chest Pain: Persistent coughing can lead to chest pain or discomfort.

5. Fatigue: The constant effort of coughing can result in fatigue and a lack of energy.
